Red Alert….Security Breach

I started this blog as a place to vent, a place to connect with others going through similar things. A place where I could be me. The me who’s not afraid of what others may think of her. A place to talk about my fears and frustrations. I needed this place. Those that have not or are not going through similar circumstances cannot understand.

I recently had a breach of security. To be more exact, my mom found the blog. As you can imagine that’s not going all that well. I never intended for her to find it. I never intended for her to read my words, though I knew the possibility was there, it is the internet after all. I never meant to hurt her more than I already had by deconverting. I only meant to be me.

For now I’ve password protected most of my posts. Feel free to ask to read, I’m open to sharing my experiences with others, I just would rather my family not read. It hinders my ability to write so honestly.

If you would like the password, then you can email me at theagnosticswife[at]hotmaildotcom

Oh, dear. Another excuse for moral panic. (Pardon the flippancy. While I’m sure they’re deadly serious to your mom, I really just can’t take her concerns seriously.)

I’m sorry for you, though, because I’m sure that means more family drama, and another upset in a relationship that you’d like to keep as warm and loving as possible. I don’t suppose there’s any chance that your mother could be persuaded to close her eyes, turn her back on the blog, and never speak of this again, could she? Hang in there, and… be clear about your boundaries, I guess?

If you or your husband want to chat, you know where to find me. Otherwise, I’ll assume that – reading habits aside – this is basically none of my business. Take care, though, okay?

  2. D'Ma says:

Oh no! The Tour Guide just said to me yesterday, “You know your blog isn’t really very anonymous, don’t you?” I asked him why he thought that(although I knew this already, really, I’ve plaster our pics on there). He said that anybody would know that’s me because of my stories.

I guess that’s a bridge I’ll have to cross at some point, too. Someone could stumble across my blog. I just didn’t want to use my real name because then it would be all too easy for someone to just google me. Anyone, strangers or friends, could find out way too much info that way.

Anyway, I’m sorry you’ve been compromised here. Like MM said, I’m sure that’s created all kinds of drama for you. It could be a good thing for her to read some of your posts here. She could see your transformation and, at least, maybe not be so angry with the AH? Maybe? Is that even possible? Good luck. 🙂

Hi. I am so sorry your mom found your blog. I really enjoy reading about your journey. I tried to send you an email at the address listed but it rejected it.

  4. graceone says:

AW, I’m not sure if I’ve shared here before. So sorry about what you’re going through with your mom. But, probably have to agree with D”Ma.

From my own experience, I’m a committed Christian believer, and all my children just aren’t at least at this time in their lives. But, I would much rather them tell me honestly what they’re thinking and feeling even if it causes hurt in the short term. I want a deeper relationship with them in the long term. I would never want them to feel that they couldn’t be real with me, and have to talk instead with strangers over the internet.

Bottom line, my feeling is that I need to meet them where they’re at, and not simply drag them to where I would like them to be. Ultimately trust God.. Of course, we are all merely human, and sometimes this can be easier said than done. But, it’s certainly something to aim for IMO. Prayers that your mom will come around, and the relationship can be mended.

  5. Eldon says:

I’m so sorry. I can appreciate your position. Having been found out and harassed is not fun at all. I hope things are resolved as peacefully as possibly.

    • theagnosticswife says:

Look who it is! Thanks for your kind words. I hope all is well your way.

      • Eldon says:

It is. It very much is. I’ve connected with a writers group and my home life seems to be settled for now. I know I’ve been absent from the interwebs but I assure you that I am well and fine!

      • theagnosticswife says:

That’s excellent! Glad to hear it!

  6. Sharon Jones says:

I would love to continue reading your blog. I have admired your courage dealing with your family through this journey.

The email address I’m submitting is my work mail as I use this much more than my personal.

  7. Asha says:

Coming out of the spiritual closet was hard for me too. I did so nearly 15 years ago. My mother is still coming to terms with it. When she finally backed off of me, she begin to try to reign my children in even harder. She tried to tell my children that if they stayed the night at her house on Saturday nights they HAD to go to church on Sunday. I had to put my foot down and say then they won’t sleep over on Saturday nights. Now she doesn’t try to force her faith on them. I think that was part of the reason I never took to the faith. I’m not good at being a sheep…I’m better at being the shepherd. I’m glad you stopped by my blog. I agree that it is nice to meet someone in OK that isn’t trying to smack me with their bible belt. I hope to read more of your journey. Guess I should send that email. 😉

Hi there, I so appreciated your most recent honest post today, and can’t wait to read more from your blog.
I just nominated you for the Liebster Award today.

  9. ATHEISTS HAVE FAITH?

Faith Defined: Belief that is not based on proof.

Atheists have faith that there is no God.

Atheists have faith that the theory of evolution is true. There is no scientific evidence to support the theory of evolution.

Atheists have faith that there is no heaven and no hell.

Atheists have faith that men evolved from green pond scum. There is no proof that that occurred.

Atheist have faith in the Big Bang Theory and that it produced life. In order for atheist to believe in the Big Bang Theory they have to first have faith that someone created something to crash together. Atheist do have faith. There is no proof in The Big Bang Theory.

Atheist have faith that when they die, they will cease to exist. There is no proof of that.

Atheist have faith that if they reject God and His Son Jesus Christ that there will be no consequences for there unbelief. They have no proof of that.

Atheist have faith that there is no book of life.

Revelation 20:14-15 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not fund written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BASE WHERE YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY BY PROFESSING THE FAITH OF AN ATHEIST?

Matthew 25:31-46 ….These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

I don’t know how I’m just now seeing this last comment… But anyways, I’ll respond.

Faith Defined: Belief that is not based on proof.
That’s only one definition from several. But it’s ok, for this response, we’ll go with this one.

Atheists have faith that there is no God.

Actually, atheism is a lack of a belief in a god, it’s not a positive statement of faith that there is no God. By your standard, you have faith that all other gods don’t exists, but you don’t know for sure and you must have just picked the one that seemed true while I’m willing to bet you’ve not examined the claims of the followers of every other deity. You must now also take the position that dragons must live inside the earth and eat the roots of sacred trees. You literally have to believe by faith that anything I make up isn’t true. Instead it’s better to ask for proof instead of just not believing something by faith. Faith isn’t required to not believe something. This is not a very typical position for atheism, there may be a few atheist that make a claim to know their is no God, I would hold them accountable for proving their position, just like I hold theists accountable to prove their position.

Atheists have faith that the theory of evolution is true. There is no scientific evidence to support the theory of evolution.

Atheism and Evolution are not related in any way at all. Atheists believe that current claims of deities by the followers of those deities aren’t supported by evidence. But since you brought it up, there is a TON of evidence to support evolution, and in fact, it’s considered a fact by most modern scientist and even most followers of christ. It’s only a small fraction of certain religious groups that refuse to accept the evidence for evolution. It’s pretty much like there will always be some flat earthers and some moon conspiracy believers. We just have to live with them.

Atheists have faith that there is no heaven and no hell.

And you most likely have faith that the heaven and hell mentioned in plenty of other religious views other than your own are likely not real. This is a bit confusing though, why would an atheist believe in anyone’s version of heaven or hell??? I can’t see a position where one would be an atheist and hold a belief in a spiritual version of heaven and/or hell. That would be a contradiction.

Atheists have faith that men evolved from green pond scum. There is no proof that that occurred.
Refer to the statement I made above concerning evolution. Atheist have faith in the Big Bang Theory and that it produced life. In order for atheist to believe in the Big Bang Theory they have to first have faith that someone created something to crash together. Atheist do have faith. There is no proof in The Big Bang Theory.

Once again, refer to the statement about evolution made above. However, I know enough science to understand that you’re making an attempt to combine evolution and abiogenisis. Also, there is no need to connect a belief that someone created something to crash together. You’re speaking nonsense from an uneducated point on view on this topic. I suggest you do more research into why this argument you’re attempting to make (loosely based on the kalam cosmological argument) isn’t very well expressed. Also, I’m pretty sure the modern evidence is that the pond scum was actually more of a pinkish color (I kid!)

Atheist have faith that when they die, they will cease to exist. There is no proof of that.
The impetus of proof concerning this is on those making a positive claim, not on those making a negative claim. This is a rookie philosophical mistake you’re making. Let me refer you to a good site with information concerning this..

    https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/burden-of-proof

Atheist have faith that if they reject God and His Son Jesus Christ that there will be no consequences for there unbelief. They have no proof of that.

    Once again… https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/burden-of-proof

Atheist have faith that there is no book of life.
    and again… https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/burden-of-proof

Revelation 20:14-15 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not fund written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Uh..I’m not sure what this scripture you posted is supposed to accomplish as far as proving a point on your behalf.. You could just as well post some sentences from the Lord of the Rings. This is what’s know as a circular argument..

    Let me refer you here..

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circular_reasoning

My strong strong suggestion for you would be to do some research concerning how to argue, and then do some research concerning modern cosmology, and then do some research on how not to make fallacious arguments. You’ve made so many of them here, I’m in fact feeling a little guilty that I’ve spent time pointing them out. But anyway, good luck next time on supporting your position.
